Plan Your Carpool For School This Fall

If you are part of a carpool, it's time to sit down with the other parents and get organized. You will want to set the rules, develop a schedule and plan a route that everyone will take in order to get a car full of kids to school on time every day.

Create a group email list or chat group to keep everyone in the loop. The carpool schedule should be made as simple as possible, giving people the same morning or afternoon each week so that the schedule is easy to remember. For emergencies, create the chat group so people can ask for trades.

Make sure you have any necessary booster seats. Have all the children exit the car curbside, and don't allow children younger than 13 to sit in the front seat. At drop off, make sure that everyone takes their belongings into the school so you don't have to return.
